What is valentines day anyway?
The holiday has roots in both Christian and ancient Roman
tradition.
The original Valentine's Day can be traced back to the Catholic
Church which began a feast day, said to be in honor of its
patron saint Valentine (or Valentinus).
It wasn't until the 19th century when British settlers arrived
that Valentine's Day was introduced to North America.
It is on February 14 each year for those who may not know.
Saint Valentine's Day is the day people in English speaking
countries express their love for each other through buying
candy, flowers, and cards for those they love.
